BOSTON, TRAVEL

Where Does the Time Go?

While I may not have had much time to write blog entries, I did sneak in a few great walks down scenic streets like Marlborough Street in July.

Sometimes it’s hard to be a blogger. While I’m never without a great idea for a post, my busy schedule can make it challenging to translate a great idea into a blog entry. Between, traveling, working long hours, trying to squeeze a little gym time in, and making time for friends, my blog sometimes falls low on the priority list.

While I usually try to focus on everything besides work on this blog, I thought it might be cool to share two of the big reasons why I was running around like a busy bee (versus blogging) during the end of July. During a 10-day span at the end of the month, I found myself crossing the country for two incredibly exciting events.

The first event had me managing the social media efforts for my company live from the red, white and blue carpet of the Captain America: The First Avenger movie premiere. And yes, I did briefly meet the very attractive star (and hometown guy) Chris Evans. He had on a navy three piece suit on a scorching 95-degree day in LA, plus some fun glasses (maybe Warby Parker?) and somehow managed to look cool despite the heat.

Sidenote: The gorgeous Maria Menounos was also there and I’m disappointed that I didn’t have the guts to go say hi to her at the after party. I can only hope that she’ll put on an event in Boston soon and I’ll get to meet her (hint hint!).

I’ve embedded my brief Chris Evans interview below – it all happened so fast. Here’s a link to our event photo album and post-event blog entry.

The other event, though it did not involve rubbing elbows with celebrities, was equally exciting. As returned to Boston from Los Angeles, my thoughts were focused on what needed to be done in advance of our company’s initial public offering and series of events we were hosting in New York City. As a public relations and social media professional, both events are the kind of opportunities that don’t come around often in your career. As you can imagine, it was an honor to be a part of both of them. Honestly, it also makes me feel less guilty for neglecting my blog.

Now that you know what I’ve been up to, I’m happy to report that life is getting back to “normal.” As a result, I’m excited to start publishing again on a regular basis. Stay tuned!
